Deeds and receipts for horses and livestock from various towns in Massachusetts sent to the registry of deeds of Middlesex County in Cambridge, and recorded years later by Sam Bartlett, registrar. Deeds for land include the signature of the seller and name of the purchaser, and describe the physical boundaries of the property. Includes a deed signed by Hannah Adams. Receipts for horses and livestock, recorded by the town clerks, include the names of citizens claiming found animals and describing purchased animals. Includes also a few receipts for goods found and claimed such as cotton, clothes, and pillows.
